Moneá Stephanie Allen was born in Richmond, Virginia – the multiracial daughter of a military father from Massachusetts and mother from Petersburg. An old soul despite only being 19, Moneá attributes her musical influences to the neo soul vibes of Erykah Badu and seasoned contemporaries Jhene Aiko, Sza, and Frank Ocean.

As a child she grew up around music as her parents always listened to various genres around the house. In her elementary years she dived into music, participating in chorus and school plays. After finishing high school and entering college she delved into her other passion of cinematography before recently deciding to push back into her love of music.

The message in Moneá’s songs is to always be who you were meant to be and continue to love yourself through your journey, knowing it's all going to be okay. Her dream artist to collaborate with is Frank Ocean, whose creativity and emotional depth in songwriting inspires her. Moneá’s goal is to spread her music to people and help them in their journey of learning to love themselves and trust the process of life. Her debut single, Universe, from her forthcoming untitled EP embodies the essence of her sound: dreamy, poetic, and real.
